About Me

Our
Story

I'm Anthony Sissine. Born in McAllen, TX and now residing in San Antonio,  I decided to run for Congress because the people doing the work keep getting the bill.

Here's my story.

I grew up in McAllen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, where I graduated from UTRGV.

But the real education came later—working, paying bills, watching the gap between what we're told and what we live get wider every year.

After living across the country, I moved to Central Texas and spent years navigating the same systems everyone else does: rising rents, unpredictable income, the constant math of whether you can afford to get sick or fix your car. I published a novel. Started and still do rideshare across the area, I tried to build something stable in an economy designed to keep you off balance.

And somewhere along the way, I realized the problem isn't that we're not working hard enough. It's that the system is working exactly as designed—to extract from us, not serve us.

Why I'm Running

I'm running for Congress because I'm tired of watching working people get handed the bill while those at the top write themselves exemptions.

Housing costs are crushing families. Healthcare is a luxury. Education is a debt trap. Wages haven't kept up in decades. And every time we ask why, we're told it's just how things are.

But it's not. It's a choice. And we can make a different one.

I'm not a career politician. I don't have PAC money or party backing. I'm running as an independent because neither party has been willing to name what's actually happening: they take, we pay.

What This Campaign Is About

This campaign is about economic dignity, but more so, affordability.

It's about building a country where work actually pays, where housing is affordable, where healthcare doesn't bankrupt you, and where the people doing the work aren't left holding the bill.

I'm not running to make promises I can't keep. I'm running to fight for policies that shift the balance back toward working people:

  • Housing & Ownership – because rent shouldn't cost more than a mortgage

  • Economic Dignity – because work should actually pay

  • Healthcare Access – because getting sick shouldn't ruin you financially

  • Education & Opportunity – because debt shouldn't be the price of learning

  • Tax Fairness – because billionaires shouldn't pay less than teachers

  • Money in Politics – because our government should serve us, not donors

TX-35 Deserves Better

Texas's 35th district stretches from San Antonio's exurbs through Central Texas. It's full of working families, veterans, small business owners, and people just trying to get by. This district has been ignored by both parties for too long.

We deserve a representative who shows up, listens, and fights for economic dignity—not someone collecting a paycheck while the system keeps extracting from us.

This Campaign Runs on People

I'm not taking corporate PAC money. I'm not funded by special interests.

This campaign is built on small donations and volunteers who believe we can do better.

If you're tired of the same broken system, join us.

Whether you can give your time, your skills, or a few dollars—it all matters.

The system works. Just not for us. Let's change that.
